Taxes

  • I voted for more than $500 million in income tax relief during my first term in the House of Representatives.
  • I fought to increase our state’s long-term emergency fund so we have savings in case of an emergency.
  • Lowering our tax burden is critical to improving our business climate. Neighboring states like Texas and Tennessee have zero income tax. I support phasing out Arkansas’s income tax.
  • State government taxes too much and spends too much. I believe individuals and families know better than the government how to best spend their hard-earned income.
  • I worked to expand the sales tax exemption on used cars and trucks, helping low-income Arkansans obtain reliable transportation so they can drive to work and school.
  • Arkansans of all backgrounds pay too much in taxes. We must continue to lower Arkansas’s burdensome and uncompetitive tax rates in order to make our state a better place to live, work, raise a family, and start a business.
